Unit 19 - Learning Aim C

 PROPOSAL

  1. Title

  • The dreams

  1. Genre

  • The genre of the short film will be horror.

  1. Logline

  • When a dream causes a woman to feel fear and anxiety about her friend, a teenage girl must find out her weakness and exploit it before her friend kills her.

  1. Narrative Overview

  • My film will begin with a teenage girl having a nightmare the night before her trip to her country, a dream makes her feel fear, worry and very uncomfortable. The nightmare she is having in a "weird" location is related to a person in her life, and she knows him personally, so she gets a bad feeling about it. When she wakes up and realises it was all a dream, she begins to prepare for the trip, but she soon finds herself feeling "that something she had seen in the dream" is all around her, like he is really there. The next scene takes place at the airport, where she must go home. The busy environment relaxes her, and she falls asleep on the plane, because she has not gotten enough sleep beforeDreams follow one another, and she finds herself in the same uncomfortable situations, with the same people and the same purpose. We are getting closer to the time when she will be in her hometown in a few hours. She returned home as soon as she arrived in her city. She starts to fear as she walks home, hearing "something" and looking around to see if anyone or anything is nearby. She sees "someone" in the distance and runs home, panicked. The next day, she found herself at the same location as in the dream, running home terrified again. She falls asleep in the house right away, and after a few hours, the doorbell rings, but no one is outside. She closes the door and sees the same person from her dreams behind it, and starts screaming.

  1. Characters

  • Annabelle= А teenage girl who lives alone because she is a student at one of London's universities comes home for Christmas to be with her family and friends. She is surprised by an uncomfortable surprise that she could not have imagined when she returned home.

  • Isabella= А teenage girl who has mental problems that lead him to fantasies about murder and death. She is excited for his best friend to arrive, but no one could have predicted why she was waiting.

  1. Film Treatment

  • The whole movie will have a terrible background as the film's genre says. I want most of the movie to be dark and depressing. Dark colours will give me a much stronger impact and better effect of the total story because the theme and scenes of the film will give the audience an uncomfortable feeling, in which darkness will play a big part. I would want a scene where the character sees things from their own point of view to let the audience understand her feelings. When she first has a dream, the lighting will be needed to make it clear that it is a dream. One of the most important elements is the sound, which must have awful, negative sensations (sound used in all horror movie scenes) of sound in the places where the real meaning of a horror movie must be expressed. For the audience, the sound will be uncomfortable. In terms of the set, I think different locations will be needed. I want the kit to be a girl's bedroom, a forest, and a large underground car park for the dreams, street and house.

  1. Film Purpose

  • I want to do this film to show my creativity and ideas in the bespossible way. The purpose is to make people aware that they should not trust everyone and that they should be careful of the people in their lives because they never really know what can happen. My film is about a teenage girl who studies in London and lives far away from her loved ones, and who wants to spend Christmas with her family and friends, as well as her best friend, who has mental problems and has a desire to murder someone. There arnumerous examples of this, which is tragic. My film is a horror film with the purpose of scaring the audience.

  1. Target Audience

  • My film's target audience is between the ages of 15 and 21, and it is appropriate for both men and women. The audience's age is important because the film includes some uncomfortable and stressing scenes. Some people may not enjoy watching those scenes because there will be darker scenes in the underground car park, the forest, and less than enjoyable happenings in usual locations where there will be additional sound that causes more tension and unpleasantness, and the scenes will have a scary background.

  1. Legal and Ethical Consideration

  • In my horror film the sound effects that I intend to employ in the film in order to give it a more effective impact on the scenes that I want to record will be taken from social media. I also need to pay attention to the environment in which part and where they will be presented in parts of the stage that will be at the airport.
